Terms of Service

1. Subject

These terms govern the use of Lockpage — the website, PDF web app and API (the "Service"). By using the Service you accept these terms. If you act on behalf of an organization, you confirm you are authorized to accept them for it. Provider: [legal entity name] — to be specified before public launch.

2. How the Service works

• By default documents are processed in your browser (local mode). We do not receive their contents and cannot recover, view or share them.
• You turn on cloud mode for a single operation on paid plans. File copies are deleted after 60 minutes.
• AI tools send the extracted document text to the server; answers are generated by a third-party model and may be inaccurate. Check them before use.
• How personal data is processed is described in the privacy policy.

3. Account

Some features work without signing up. Paid plans require an account. You are responsible for keeping your password safe and for actions taken under your account. The team owner on the Business plan is responsible for invited users and their roles.

4. Plans and limits

• Free — free. 2 free documents a day; Convert, sign, compress, merge; No sign-up, no watermarks.
• Basic — $2 per month or $1.50 per month billed yearly. Unlimited documents; Word, Excel, images ⇄ PDF; Sign, compress, merge, pages; Fill forms, watermark; No ads, no watermarks.
• Pro — $7 per month or $5.50 per month billed yearly. Everything in Basic; OCR for scans; Compare versions, Bates numbering; Redact IDs and personal data; PDF password; AI summary and document chat; Cloud for heavy files.
• Business — $20 per month per seat or $16 per month per seat billed yearly. Everything in Pro; Team, roles and shared billing; Advanced legal redaction; Activity log without file contents; Security audit reports.
• Enterprise — custom pricing. On-premise build for your network; Cloud mode on your servers; SSO, SLA, dedicated manager; Audit and DPA support.

On the Free plan, a document is one finished result downloaded from a tool. The limit is 2 documents per day per device; the counter resets daily at 00:00 UTC. Bypassing the limit (spoofing device characteristics, automation) is prohibited and may lead to restricted access.

5. Payment, renewal and cancellation

• Payments are processed by Stripe. We never receive or store card details.
• The subscription renews automatically for the same period until you cancel it.
• You can cancel at any time in your dashboard. Access continues until the end of the paid period, then the account moves to Free.
• Refunds: if the plan isn't right for you, contact support within 14 days of your first payment and we will refund it in full. [Refund period and terms need founder confirmation.]
• On the Business plan you can add seats during the period; the extra charge is prorated.
• Prices exclude taxes unless the invoice says otherwise.

6. API

API usage is billed as you go: $0.01 for each input document in a successful request, the first 100 documents per calendar month are free. Your API key is confidential; you are responsible for requests made with it and must revoke it if compromised. We may rate-limit requests. API availability is not guaranteed on free and standard plans; an SLA is provided under Enterprise.

7. Acceptable use

You must not:

• use the Service to process material whose distribution is prohibited by law;
• disrupt the Service, run load tests without agreement, or bypass limits;
• resell access to the Service without a separate agreement;
• use AI tools to create harmful or illegal content.

8. Your documents and rights to them

You keep all rights to your documents. In cloud mode, AI and the API you grant us the right to process the file or text solely to perform the requested operation. You are responsible for having a lawful basis to process personal data contained in documents.

9. Feature limitations

• Redaction turns affected pages into images: their text can no longer be selected. Check the result before sharing it.
• The Signature tool places a signature image and stamps. It does not create an electronic signature within the meaning of eIDAS or the US ESIGN Act.
• Conversion to Word and Excel carries over text and simple tables; complex layouts may not be preserved.

10. Liability

The Service is provided "as is". We make reasonable efforts for the tools to work correctly but do not guarantee they are error-free. Keep your original files. To the extent permitted by law, our total liability is limited to the amount you paid in the last 12 months. We are not liable for consequences of a compromised device, browser or extensions.

11. Termination

You can delete your account at any time in settings. We may suspend access if you breach these terms, with prior notice unless the breach requires immediate action.

12. Changes to the terms

We notify you of material changes by email at least 14 days in advance. By continuing to use the Service after changes take effect, you accept them.
